Horseradish syrup

Required material

1 black radish

Sugar, rock candy or honey

1 glass

1 screw-cap bottle (approx. 100 ml)

Application

One to three teaspoons a day can help for coughing.

Method

Cut off a slice at the top (stem) of the radish, hollow out the radish and make a hole at the bottom (root).

Chop the hollowed-out flesh into as small pieces as possible and mix with the same amount of honey, sugar or rock candy.

Fill the hollowed-out radish with this sugar and radish mixture. There won't be space for everything, so save the remainder in a bowl.

Stand the radish in a glass on its root end and wait. After a while you will see the first drops of syrup coming out the root end.

When ready, fill up the radish again from the remainder in the bowl, let everything drip out overnight and put the syrup in a bottle.
