Individual Daily Indemnity Insurance pays that part of your salary which isn’t covered by your employer’s insurance. That way, you continue to receive your full salary.
The insurance aids you financially when the statutory continued salary payments come to an end and before you get benefits from disability insurance or your pension fund. This means you stay protected, without having to worry about gaps in your income.
This form of insurance is suitable for people in employment, from age 15 to AHV retirement age. If an insured person keeps working beyond the AHV retirement age, the insurance can be continued until they reach the age of 70.
You can opt to receive a daily indemnity for accident or illness. To get a daily indemnity during maternity, choose the combination of maternity and illness.
The waiting period runs from the moment you first become unable to work until the time you receive the first daily indemnity payment. You can choose a waiting period of 3, 14, 30, 60, 90, 180 or 360 days. The longer the waiting period, the lower the premium.
